THE CLIMATE CRISIS IS A CHILD RIGHTS CRISIS.
WE NEED TO ACT NOW.
Climate change is changing our world and the lives of children. It harms children's rights to health, education and protection.
Children are being hit hardest by climate change, yet they are the least responsible for it. Children under the age of 5 are the most likely to be harmed by diseases associated with climate change.
Children can't wait for net zero - we must make changes now.
The climate crisis is affecting children now. Discover how you can support children's calls for UK Government action.
We urgently need political action that supports children in the UK and around the world to adapt, live and thrive in a changing climate.
We're calling on the UK Government to:
- Put children at the top of the world's climate agenda by championing the need for a global Climate Action Plan for children and young people under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
- Protect the most vulnerable children by increasing funding for resilient essential services such as healthcare and education
- Champion a Global Goal on Adaptation that ensures a climate-safe world for children.
- Centre children and youth voices in the decisions that shape their lives by formally including children and young people within the UK’s official delegation to COP28 and future COPs.
Children are calling for action to protect them from climate change. Children are uniquely vulnerable and are already having to adapt to a climate-changed world. They need our support.
